2. Now look for the icon that lets you create a new contact, which is usually represented by a plus (+) sign.
3. Choose where you want to save the new contact. Now, depending on your Contacts app, it might ask you to select an account or storage location (internal storage or SIM card) for WhatsApp to store the new contact.
4. Give the contact you intend to save a name.
5. Now enter the international phone number of the person you want to add. Remember we mentioned this in the previous section.

In the phone number field, start by typing the plus (+) symbol, followed by the country code (like +1 for the US), and then the rest of the person’s phone number. For example, a US phone number would look like this: +1 (772) 918-9815 (‘772’ being the area code).

Finally, save the contact. The location of the Save button might vary depending on your phone’s model. Once you save the contact, you can now chat with them in WhatsApp, just like you would with a local contact.
